Shoji Satake

I can relate to this artist because I too was born in one country and raised in another. He was born in Japan and raised in America. His work is his way of combining both cultures by using two different clays and creating two different textures. I think the finished work is quite beautiful.

 

I think this work would apply to Saoirse because of the combination of clays and the use of floral imagery. The artist also is inspired my nature.
